Homelands Holdings respects your privacy. This notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal information through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Homelands Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“Homelands Holdings”, “we”, “us”) is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website.

2. What personal information we collect

This website has no contact forms, user accounts or online payments. We collect personal information only when you contact us directly, by phone, email or in person. This may include your name, contact details, organisation and the content of your enquiry.

When you visit the website, our hosting provider’s servers may automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit. We use this only to run and secure the website.

To respond to your enquiry.
To consider partnership, investment, supplier or employment enquiries.
To keep the website secure and working properly.
To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Our lawful basis

We process personal information only where POPIA allows it: with your consent, to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, to comply with the law, or where it is necessary for our legitimate interests or yours.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:

the Homelands Holdings operating company your enquiry relates to;
service providers who help us run our business and this website, such as hosting, IT and professional advisers, who must keep it confidential and secure;
authorities, where the law requires it.

6. Third-party services on this website

Our Contact page shows an embedded Google Map, and the website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When these load, Google may receive your IP address and may set its own cookies. Google’s use of that information is governed by Google’s privacy policy.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

7. Information sent outside South Africa

Some service providers, such as Google, may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards required by section 72 of POPIA.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

9. How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access, as required by section 19 of POPIA.

10. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us:

whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or unlawfully held;
to stop processing your information, or withdraw your consent.
